Employee Falls Through Missing Guardrail

Employee #1 was working on the second floor installing drywall from 18-in. stilts when he came in contact with an incomplete guardrail that was missing the mid-rail, which set at the 38 in. for the top rail. The guardrail failed and Employee #1 fell 10 ft 2 in. to a hardwood floor, landing on his back. Employee #1 suffered a fractured back and was paralyzed. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
