Employee receives multiple fractures in fall from balcony

On July 23, 2004, an employee of a roofing and siding contractor was working on the third-story balcony of an apartment building. He lost his balance and fell approximately 26 feet to the ground. He was not wearing fall protection. He received multiple fractured bones, including facial bones. Some of the injuries were sustained when the employee hit the concrete balcony jutting out from the second floor as he fell to the ground. His injuries required hospitalization.
