Employee struck by nail

On January 7, 2003, Employee #1 was standing between two studs holding a 2-in. by 4-in. brace to be nailed by another employee. Employee #1 was struck by a nail that was being shot into the wood to secure the brace to the stud wall. The employee was using a Hitachi NR 83A 3.25-in. nail gun. The nail entered the brace and angled up and struck Employee #1 in the buttocks without entering the stud. Employee #1 was not hospitalized for his injury.
