Employee receives injuries after falling from scaffold

On March 10, 2003, Employee #1 was working from a supported frame scaffold system without any fall protection. The work platform of the scaffold was at an approximate height of 24-ft. While occupying the work platform, he lost his balance and fell. He struck the ground sustaining a compound fracture in his left arm, and shattering the bones of his pelvis. Emergency medical personnel were summoned and transported him to the hospital. At the hospital, he underwent surgical operations to reset fractured bones and repair damaged tissues. He was hospitalized following the surgical treatment for postoperative care.
