Employee injured after 23 foot fall

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on October 14, 2002, Employee #1 was in the process of climbing a crane access ladder, a height of approximately 23 feet. He reached the landing. However, because he was carrying a chain, block, and a length of line around his shoulder, he lost his balance and fell backwards over the shortened cage to the floor, approximately 23 feet down. Employee #1 was hospitalized where he was treated for his right leg and two vertebrae.
