Employee dies after being struck by log

At approximately 11:59 a.m. on December 5, 2003, Employee #1, a skidder operator, was directed by the loader operator to dismount the skidder and walk over to the loader operator to receive instructions on the log hauling procedure. Employee #1 then walked back to the skidder. The loader operator picked up a pulp wood log, swung the boom with the log, and struck Employee #1 as the boom moved over the skidder. Employee #1 was transported to a hospital where he died.
