Investigation Summary
On September 18, 2002, Employee #1 was installing weatherproofing on the exterior walls of the third-floor balconies on a three-story residence under construction. After completing the balcony on the east side of the building, he began working on west side balcony, which measured 6.5 ft by 11 ft. While using a 6 ft stepladder to reach the higher parts of the side walls, he fell off the ladder and the balcony, 22 ft to the first floor balcony. Employee #1 was killed.
