Employee killed when shot in head by juvenile

On November 18, 2002, Employee #1, a police officer, was shot as he walked through a gate at a park. A 17 year old juvenile shot him in the head with a 9 millimeter handgun at close range. Employee #1 was air lifted to the University of Utah Hospital where he succumbed to his injury later that morning.
