Employee Fractures Ankle in Fall from Third Story of Buildin

At approximately 3:10 p.m. on January 21, 2005, Employee #1 was using a pneumatic nail gun to tack CS-16 metal straps along the exterior of the windows of a multi-family apartment complex under construction. Employee #1 was working on the third floor in Unit Number 2. Employee #1 tacked a metal strap on an outside end window and climbed up on top of the 3-in.-wide windowsill and began tacking the metal straps on the sides. Employee #1 ran out of nails and set the nail gun down. Employee #1 reached into his pocket for nails. Employee #1 stood up and lost his balance, falling approximately 20 ft to the ground. Employee #1 fractured his left ankle and was hospitalized.
