Employee Is Killed When Struck by Motor Vehicle

On August 12, 2002, Employee #1 was part of a crew that was moving barricades in a construction zone in the southbound lanes of an interstate. A proper temporary work zone was in place. The barriers were being moved from the lane to be repaired to the lane already repaired. There were between 10 and 12 barriers left to move when, for some reason, Employee #1 entered the live traffic lane. He was nearly at the edge between the south and northbound lanes, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle and killed.
