Investigation Summary
On February 27, 2003, Employee #1 was cutting branches from a tree at a height of approximately 35 feet above the ground. The employee was wearing and using fall protection at the time of the accident. He was tied-off below the point where he was making the cut. Approximately halfway through the cut, the tree split and pulled the employee to the ground with it. The employee landed on his head and was killed.
