Employee Is Electrocuted and Is Killed

On April 10, 2002, Employee #1 was unloading a cast iron pipe from a truck bed using a truck cane. The 18 ft, 6 in. long pipe was being hoisted by the crane when the boom contacted an overhead, 32,000 Volt, power line. The current came down the boom, the metal chain and the pipe, and electrocuted the employee. Employee #1 was killed.
