Employee injured when leg caught between pallet and machine

At 4:15 p.m. on August 5, 2001, Employee #1, employed by Chiquita Brands International, was working at the Station Number 1 palletizer. Employee #1 was attempting to retrieve additional cans to fill in areas of the already palletized canned green beans. Employee #1 sustained a broken leg when he got caught between the pallet of canned beans and other equipment. Employee #1 was hospitalized with a fractured leg.
