Employee injured when hand caught by table saw

Employee #1, a shop teacher, was demonstrating to a student how to make a groove in a piece of wood using a table saw fitted with a dado blade. As Employee #1 was starting the cut, the piece of wood kicked back toward him, forcefully striking the palm of his right hand. At the same time the wood moved out from under the fingers of Employee #1's left hand, causing his fingers to come into contact with the cutting blades.
