Employee Has Multiple Injuries - Falling Through An Opening

Employee #1 had bruises, broken ribs, collapsed lung, and cuts when he fell backward 12 feet 9 inches through an unguarded window opening. He was framing an interior wall section on the second floor level of a single family house. He fell backward through an unguarded window opening. The opening measured 10 feet one inch. First, he struck an extension of the first floor, where a bay window was to be installed, and then fell another 2 feet 8 inches to the ground (total 12 feet 9 inches). Employee #1 had bruises, broken ribs, collapsed lung and cuts. He went to a local shock trauma center for treatment.
