Event: 07/18/2001
Employee died when arm caught in rewinder paper machine

On July 18, 2001, Employee #1 was operating a rewinder paper machine. He was removing the waste removal vacuum hose when his left hand was captured by the finished roll. His left arm and chest was pulled through the machine. Emergency Rescue Services was called and the Farmers Branch Fire Department responded. Employee #1 was transported by helicopter to the Baylor Medical Center were he was pronounced dead at 3:08 p.m. from blunt force trauma.
