Employee Dies Falling from Roof not Using Fall Protection

Employee #1 died when he fell from the tenth floor of an apartment complex to the roof of the parking garage on the sixth floor while not using any fall protection. He was working for a framing subcontractor installing hardware and a door to the balcony area on the tenth floor of an apartment complex. Employee #1 crossed the cable guardrail system and entered the unguarded balcony platform area without the use of a personal fall protection system.
