Employee killed by vehicle while directing traffic

A supervisor summoned Employee #1 to assist in traffic control around a vehicle accident site adjacent to the campus for which they had security responsibilities. Employee #1 arrived on scene, turned on the vehicle's light bar, donned a reflective vest, and took up a position in the northwest lane of a two-lane street, directing traffic with flashlight in hand and operating. At approximately 6:27 p.m., a vehicle was traveling northwest on the street and collided with Employee #1. Both the vehicle and Employee #1 came to rest near the point of impact in the northwest lane.
