Investigation Summary
Employee #1, age 20, was working on a sewer lateral from a single-family home under construction. The excavation was approximately 30 in. wide, the same width as the trackhoe bucket, and it extended to below the foundation of the house. Employee #1 was in the trench when it caved in., sustaining injuries that required hospitalization.
