Employee Fractures Head and Dies While Playing Football

At approximately 10:10 p.m., on December 30, 2005, Employee #1, a loader operator, was playing a catch football with other employees. He fell to the ground striking his head. Employee #1 passed away at Loma Linda Hospital at approximately 1:00 p.m. on December 31, 2005, as a result of blunt force trauma sustained from the fall to the ground. This accident was not work related in nature, since it resulted from sports activities, while on company time. The California Code of Regulations Title 8 does not address sport activities.
