Employee Is Injuried When Struck by Falling Mast

At approximately 12:00 p.m. on October 28, 2005, Employee #1, a welder, who had been engaged in welding activities at the beginning of his shift, was sitting at a table, filling out forms, when a forklift mast struck the overhead crane, causing it to fall from the overhead travel beams, striking him. Employee #1 was hospitalized with injuries to his abdomen, chest and lower legs. The hospital later performed surgery to remove his spleen.
