Employee Killed When Struck By A Falling Milling Machine

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on February 2, 2001, Employee #1, a machinist for North Star Landing Gear, was killed when a horizontal milling machine tipped over and fell on him. The machine measured approximately 10 feet 11 inches and weighed approximately 15,000 pounds. Employee #1 and three other employees were attempting to move a boring mill from one location to another in the machine shop.
