Employee killed when struck by falling tree

Employee #1, a logger for James Nelson Logging, was cutting pine trees at a site approximately 1/2 mile from Highway 26 near Arkadelphia, AR. He cut one 24 in. diameter tree, which became hung up in a nearby standing tree. Employee #1 started to cut the adjacent tree when the first tree split and fell, causing the second tree to come down as well. It struck Employee #1, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
