Employee is injured when he falls from an elevated platform

Employee #1 was using two pieces of 0.25-in. thick plywood, approximately 0.24-in. by 44-in., as work platforms over a metal stud framed ceiling while installing electrical conduit. One of the metal studs twisted under his weight throwing him off balance. He fell approximately 9.5 ft to a concrete floor. Employee #1 sustained a cracked pelvis and back vertebra and was hospitalized.
