Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 170123798
Event: 08/16/1999
Employee killed by falling tree

Employee #1 was in the midst of felling a pine tree. Additional trees were being cut downslope, and apparently this caused a tree lodged in one adjacent to the pine to fall, striking Employee #1 from behind. He sustained massive head injuries and was killed. A coworker on the skidder found him beneath the pine tree.
