Employee Run Over By A Truck While Unloading Traffic Cones

Employee #1 was unloading traffic cones from the back of a 1994 Ford truck placing them in the grass median in preparation of performing a lane closure on the northbound side of Interstate 275. As the truck began to reverse slowly, Employee #1 reached into the back of the truck for a stack of cones. The truck's tailgate sprung open striking Employee #1 in the back causing her to fall face forward. The vehicle continued to travel in reverse, and the left rear tires rolled over her, causing skull fractures and neck injuries. Emergency response teams arrived at the scene. Employee #1 was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
