Employee's finger lacerated by duffer roll

Employee #1 was removing cotton that had become jammed between the duffer roll and the cylinder of a Trutzschler card machine, serial #DK760. As he started withdrewing his hand, he felt the needles of the duffer roll and jerked his hand out, lacerating his right middle finger. The card machine was cut off but not locked out, and interlocks were provided on the access doors.
