Employee Dies from Heart Attack after Vehicular Accident

At approximately 11:15 a.m. on November 23, 2010, Employee #1, a postal worker, was making mail deliveries on his assigned route in a Long Life Vehicle (LLV). While Employee #1 was driving northbound on Howard Street in Petoskey, MI, when he drove over a curb and entered a parking lot at North Central Michigan College. He then drove through a grass area that divided two parking lots, struck a stop sign, and then struck the rear driver side quarter panel of a parked car before coming to a stop in a grass area to the south side of a neighboring parking lot. Emergency services were contacted and, upon arrival, Employee #1 was found to be in full arrest. He was transported to Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey, MI, where he later died from a heart attack.
