Employee's Hand Is Injured in Machine Rollers

On July 2, 2002, Employee #1 was working with an assistant on a laminating machine (Automatan, Model Number 4260, Serial Number 4260-124), which applies labels to corrugated sheets. The assistant was at one end of the machine feeding the corrugated sheets, while Employee #1 was at the other end monitoring the progress of the final product. As Employee #1 was walking back towards the station were the laminated sheets are ejected, he slipped, lost his balance, and his left hand became caught between the rollers of the machine. He was hospitalized for treatment of the crushed and degloved hand.
