Employee Is Injured When Struck by Forklift

On January 22, 2005, Employee #1 was operating the 300-ton press in the press line of Building Number 336. A temporary employee, who was helping Employee #1, was operating a fork lift that pinned Employee #1's right leg between the metal cage on the lowered forks and the lower section of the press. The temporary employee was not authorized or certified to operate a forklift. Employee #1 sustained a compound fracture to his right lower leg requiring surgery. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
