Employee's finger amputated in sprocket gear

Employee #1 was trying to prevent a portable winch from falling from a drag chute. He grabbed the sprocket gear chain with his left hand and threw the electric switch with either his right hand or his knee. His hand became caught in a sprocket gear, amputating his index finger and injuring his middle finger. The sprocket gear was not guarded.
