Employee injures fingers while operating a saw

On October 2, 2003, Employee #1, a non-contract employee of Imagination Design, was operating a Rigid Brand Radila Arm Saw to cut plastic (PVC) pipe. Imagination Design is an art studio that creates costumes and promotional items, such as action figures. They use power tools to cut and form plastic parts and raw materials. Employee #1 was cutting the pipe length wise, when the part apparently slipped and his fingers contacted the rotating blade. He amputated the tips of his fourth and fifth fingers. Employee #1 was hospitalized for his injuries.
