Employee killed when forklift turns over

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on May 5, 1998, Employee #1 was performing his assigned daily task at the Chateau Elan Winery Hotel and Resort. He was given instructions to take the available Clarklift to unload a truck. Employee #1 picked up the Clarklift at the Irish pub, located on the premises less than one half mile from the place where the accident occurred. While traveling down an incline, Employee #1 attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot. Employee #1 struck a pothole in the road and the Clarklift began to tip over to the right. Employee #1 attempted to jump clear of the forklift, but he was struck and killed as the forklift fell.
