Employee is injured when struck by transom

At approximately 12:11 p.m. on October 31, 2003, an employee standing between trailers, the sanitary and 52-R trailer, when a Pepsi truck loaded with vending machines and freezers drove by to exit the site. The driver of the truck made his turn to gate too short and drove over the top end of the transom. The transom came up in the air and followed the truck making a swing. The employee saw the transom coming and was trying to run away from it, but it hit him on his ankle. The Emergency Medical Technician on site arrived and summoned the emergency medical services. The employee was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where the employee was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
