Employee injures his back picking up heavy object

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on July 27, 2001, Employee #1, an electrician, was making a repair to a cord reel to be used at another shop. He picked up the 40-pound reel and felt a pull on his back. He continued to work through his shift. The next morning he could not get out of bed and was hospitalized.
