Employee amputates finger while using power press

On September 15, 2000, a laborer working for Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company located at 160 Harrison St, SF. the laborer and another coworker were guiding a load of rebar, The rebar were hoisted on a choker by a forklift operated by the foreman. Laborer #1 and the coworker were maneuvering the rebar as they were traveling. At one point, they noticed the choker was at the tip of the forks, at approximately 2200 feet the load of rebar fell onto Laborer #1 left foot. The Laborer was taken to St Luke's Hospital, and treated for a fractured left big toe.
