Employee Fractures Hip in Slip and Fall from Scaffold

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on February 25, 2005, Employee #1, a plasterer, was standing on the first stage of a scaffold applying wet material to a wall. Some of the wet material had fallen onto the scaffold plank and Employee #1 slipped on this wet material and fell to the ground. The place where Employee #1 fell had some dried chunks of concrete, which, more than likely, made the injury worse than it would have been had the ground been level. Employee #1 suffered multiple hip fractures and was hospitalized for seven days.
