Employee struck by falling air conditioner

At approximately 7:55 a.m. on September 23, 2003, an employee and coworkers were displacing an air conditioner by using a hoist on a scaffold catwalk. The air conditioner fell while the crew was pushing it sideways. The employee was struck by the 118-lb roof air conditioner which was not secured. The employee sustained a traumatic brain injury with post concussive symptoms. The paramedics responded and took the employee to the Riverside Community Hospital, where he was admitted to the Acute Care Unit. He was transferred to the Loma Linda University Medical Center, on October 10, 2003, and to the Casa Colina Transitional Living Center in Pomona on, October 30, 2003
