Employee's Hand Crushed in Mold Making Machine

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on August 13, 2002, Employee #1 was tossing aluminum molds and tiles from the production line Number 2 conveyor that was located near the entrance of the slurry booth. He had tossed six molds when one became stuck and did not fall down. The next mold pushed on the stuck one, and Employee #1's left hand became caught and was crushed against the frame of the slurry booth. He sustained a fractured ring finger and severe lacerations to all his other fingers. He was hospitalized.
