Employee suffers crushing injury to fingers in machine

On October 19, 2001, an employee was operating a bottle-labeling machine. One of the labels got stuck on the roller of the labeling machine. The employee tried to pull the label free with his hand while the machine was running. As a result, his right index and middle fingers were caught in the nip point of the roller and he suffered a crushing injury to his fingers. He was hospitalized for 9 days.
