Event: 04/19/2000
Employee Killed In Fall From Roof

Employee #1 was a construction laborer sent by a temporary employment agency to work for a large general contractor. On the day of the incident Employee #1 was assigned by the job site superintendent to work on the roof of the building under construction placing sound insulation batting on the HVAC platform prior to actually having the HVAC units placed on the roof. The platforms were centered on the roof, well away from the roof edge. Approximately one and one half hours later, with no other workers on the roof, Employee #1 was seen falling 33.5 ft to the ground by an employee in a neighboring office building. Employee #1 had no work-related reason to be at the edge of the roof. Employee #1 was killed.
