Employee Is Injured in Fall from Fixed Ladder

At approximately 11:15 a.m. on January 17, 2006, Employee #1 fell while descending through a roof hatch on a fixed ladder located in a janitor's closet. Employee #1 was hospitalized at Kaiser Redwood City for a fractured left arm. There were no witnesses to the accident. Employee #1 remembers being on the ladder approximately 13 to 14 ft above the floor of the janitors closet, holding the ladder with his left hand, and reaching up with his right hand to close the roof hatch.
