Employee fractures right ankle after falling from trailer

On December 19, 2002, Employee #1 was loading pallets into a truck trailer (license number 71 624, trailer markings, AXXAZ552393) located near the salvage yard west entrance. He was involved in an operation to recycle wooden pallets. A coworker was inside the trailer stacking and moving pallets with a pallet jack. Employee #1 climbed into the trailer to assist the coworker. When Employee #1 was finished, he tried to climb out of the back of the trailer, when he slipped and fell to the ground fracturing his left ankle. The employee stated he lost his balance while climbing out of the truck. The height of the truck bed to the ground was approximately 4 ft. 6 in. Employee #1 was hospitalized at Holy Cross Hospital.
