Investigation Summary
On February 6, 2006, Employee #1, a journeyman carpenter, was constructing a hybrid timber-framed residential home in Arnold, California. Employee #1 was in the process of attaching some vapor barriers to an outside wall. Employee #1 set up one section of scaffolding, approximately 4 ft. tall. He then set up a fully extended 25 ft extension ladder on top of the scaffolding. The ladder kicked out on the scaffolding, and Employee #1 fell approximately 25 ft. He broke his legs and was hospitalized.
