Employee Fractures Ankle When Struck by Pallet

On September 15, 2004, Employee #1 was stamping labels on the sides of grape packing boxes. The boxes were stacked on pallets, and Employee #1 was positioned between two pallets. A forklift driver maneuvered the forks inside a pallet in order to pick the pallet up and relocate it. As the forklift driver did this, the pallet shifted forward. The pallet then struck the ankle of Employee #1, fracturing it.
