Employee's arm is lacerated by saw blade

On August 26, 2003, Employee #1, a 22-year-old builder helper was re-cutting a piece of wood to increase the angle at one end. Employee #1 placed the wood on a table and held it down with his left hand. He tried twice to cut the piece of wood using a Skill Saw. Employee #1 lost control of the saw and it skipped across the top of the wood, striking Employee #1's left arm which held the wood down. Employee #1 sustained lacerations to his arm and was hospitalized.
