Employee loses finger in block cutter machine

Employee #1, a laborer who works for Truestone Block Incorporated, tried to remove a concrete block from an activated Lithibar Matik block cutter. The machine was unguarded, and when he reached into the area where the cutter cuts block, he lost his left little finger and the tip of his left index finger. He was brought to St. Johns Hospital where he was treated for the amputations.
