Employee injured when extension ladder slips

At approximately 12:54 p.m. on November 9, 1996, Employee #1 was setting up a 22 ft extension ladder to paint an outside beam. He was climbing the ladder to secure it when the ladder slipped backward and he dropped approximately 12 ft. Employee #1 was taken to Los Robles Hospital, where he was treated for a sore wrist and a possible fractured ankle and released. Employee #1 was wearing a harness and a lifeline. The employer was issued a citation related to ladder stabilization.
