Employee's Finger Punctured by Nectarine Branch

At approximately 8:00 a.m. on July 13, 2002, an employee was harvesting nectarines and was pricked on his right index finger by a branch or some other object. The employee informed his foreman but told the foreman that he was fine and did not need to go to the doctor. The next day the employee reported for work and stated that his finger felt fine. On July 15, 2002, the worker reported that his finger was sore but could continue to work. On the fourth day, July 16, 2002, the worker reported to the Cutler-Orosi Family Health Center with an abscessed finger and inflamed right forearm. The employee was transported to Kaweah Delta District Hospital where he was hospitalized for additional treatment.
