Employee's finger lacerated while working a vineyard

An employee was working pruning vines in a vineyard. He reached into the vine and grabbed a cane with his right hand. He attempted to prune the cane with the shears in his left hand. When he did this he severely lacerated the little finger on his right hand. The employee was hospitalized for his injuries. The tip of his finger was surgically removed.
